I created 'Pourrestore Kitchen' after starting my tea brand Pourrestore Tea, which over time transformed into what is now a more well-rounded approach to nutrition, making it as easy as possible for you to use food as a tool for healing and thriving.

My Journey

I’m Sandi Cohen, a Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner, Nutrition Educator, and a Certified Nutrition Consultant. I educate people on what’s going on in their body that’s causing their signs and symptoms. I did private counseling for many years, until I realized I wanted to reach more people and share what I know through my nutrition-forward recipes.

At 13, I had my first encounter with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I was plagued with gut issues wherever I went, whatever I ate. As a teen, this was a hard issue to deal with, and I desperately hoped it would just go away. I saw doctors, but they didn’t give me the information or tools to help me. Most doctors told me to either just ignore my stomach problems or to skip vegetables, or only eat white bread and potatoes. Needless to say, this advice did not work and I found myself limiting most foods as everything seemed to make me feel bloated and sick all the time. This of course affected my blood sugar throughout most of my life, as well as my moods, and always left me feeling exhausted.

After years of just accepting my “gut fate”, and not getting the health support that I needed to address my symptoms, I decided to start finding out about my unique digestive system.

Best decision I ever made. After completing my education, I was able to understand what was happening to me physiologically and why. I made the necessary changes to finally start healing my digestive issues.

All too often our health care providers skip immediately ahead to the “testing, pills and protocol method” and ignore the fundamental steps that are essential for healing FIRST - before anything else. Not addressing the root causes of “why and what’s going on in your body” essentially puts a band aid solution on the problem that only creates a temporary fix. Without addressing the underlying root causes of those signs, symptoms, and diagnosis, those aggravating signs and symptoms will eventually return, leaving you no better than when you first started.

This is why I wrote my book 'Bye-Bye Bloat Reset Method' and began sharing my recipes online. I love cooking nourishing meals that leave you feeling satisfied and good, rather than full, bloated or guilty afterwards. All of my recipes prioritize gut health and are used as fuel for the body to do what it needs to do! â€‹

It might take a little getting used to to change your habits, especially if you've been eating a certain way for most of your life. It's no surprise so many people have gut issues with the ultra-processed, dairy and sugar heavy diets that are pushed into our faces in our society. But if you start to slowly incorporate more whole foods, cut down on dairy, gluten and sugar, I promise, your body will thank you.
